Yanqing Lu

Professor, doctoral supervisor

Changjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor, recipient of the National Outstanding Youth Science Fund, national level leading talent in scientific and technological innovation, and leader of the Ministry of Educations innovation team. I graduated with a bachelors degree from the Department of Physics at Nanjing University in 1991, and obtained a doctoral degree from the same department in 1996. Later, I stayed on as a teacher at the university. Since 2000, Lu Yanqing has gone to the United States and shifted his work towards the field of applied engineering technology. Served successively as an Optical Engineer at Chorum Technologies in the United States; Leader of Optical Design and Development Group, CREOL, Visiting Research Scientist of Central Florida, Principal Engineer of Defiant Photonics, I have accumulated a lot of practical experience in the research and production of optoelectronic products, including the position of CTO at eGTran (EZconn) China Branch (Guangsheng Technology Ningbo Co., Ltd.). At the end of 2006, Lu Yanqing was hired and returned to work at Nanjing University.
Professor Lu Yanqing is a senior member of the IEEE Photonics Society, executive editor of the China Laser Journal COL, director of the Liquid Crystal Professional Committee of the Chinese Physical Society, deputy editor in chief of "Liquid Crystal and Display", fellow of the American Optical Society, fellow of the Chinese Optical Society, fellow of the Chinese Optical Engineering Society, member of the "World Class Science and Technology Journal Construction Expert Committee" of the Association for Science and Technology, central committee member of the 93 Society, standing committee member of the All China Youth Federation, and member of the Jiangsu Provincial Political Consultative Conference. He has been awarded the Top Ten Young Science and Technology Stars in Jiangsu, the 5th Jiangsu Youth May Fourth Medal, and the 11th China Youth May Fourth Medal.

Introduction to Research Career

In terms of scientific research, Professor Lu Yanqing has presided over several national level research projects such as the National Key R&D Program and the 863, 973, and Natural Science Foundation of China. His work mainly focuses on dielectric superlattices, liquid crystal materials, fiber optics, and has international influence in the fields of ionic phononic crystals, liquid crystal materials, and their optoelectronic applications. In science, More than 200 papers have been published in journals such as NC, PRL, SA, and AM, with over 6000 citations and over 100 patent applications, including over 70 authorized patents and 5 transfers. In 1999, he was awarded honors such as "Top Ten Scientific and Technological Advances in Chinese Higher Education Institutions" and "Top Ten News on Basic Research in China". I won the first prize of 2020 Jiangsu Provincial Science and Technology Award (ranking first), and the first prize of 2023 Natural Science Award of China Optical Engineering Society Science and Technology Award (ranking first). I am also one of the winners of the first prize project of 2006 the State Natural Science Award "Design, Preparation, Performance and Application of Dielectric Superlattice Materials".
